Isn't 10 terabytes supposed to be the capacity of the human brain? I'd just commit it all to memory ...

Kind of like having the the new Dallas Cowboys stadium as your dining room - lots of unused and wasted space?

"...lots of unused and wasted space..."

Our working hypothesis around here: we strive to fill all unused space with analysis of drivel, linkages to threads that have been linked before, and of course, reanalysis of the prior analysis of drivel (my favorite) because we forgot the link that would have linked us to all of it the first time around (which in fact is usually the second or third time around, since they occurred prior to our learning how to "search" the Forum properly).

Yeah--if you're not part of the solution ("wasting space" and "wasting your time"), you're just part of the problem (that being doing something useful, getting a life, being a productive member of non-Forum society, etc...Gadzooks! Who wants THAT!?!?).

Now, that was funny on a number of levels, C! I know that it's awk with some of the folks around here, but that sort of post makes it seem like you're one of the regulars...or, irregulars I suppose. Guerrilla warfare, Forum style.

You familiar with the "Goldfish Principal?"

This is a universal concept along the lines of Occam's Razor, wherein:

Stuff grows to fill the space allotted...

A goldfish in a lake grows much larger than a goldfish in a bowl.

The larger the hard drive, the more stuff you store.

The more your earn, the more you spend.

Oh yeah...applies to my wife, esp. I will never forget when we first were married, 30 yrs ago, and arrived at our new rental with just over $100 in the bank...she worried a bit too much, I thought, but always insisted once we had $1000 tucked in the bank, she'd rest easy...

Think that turned out to be true? Still love her dearly, and her worry wart nature keeps her (us) from spending...I have to work had to explain/justify my DEAD related purchases.

it is a lot of space, but here at the office, we're looking at multiple Petabytes. I think that I have 14 EMC DMX Frames on the floor.
